Has anyone looked into the specific jewelry Catherine was carrying at the time of their disappearance? I came across an old article that mentioned she had pieces worth up to $170,000, but there's hardly any detailed description of what these pieces were. Could the jewelry have been targeted by someone who knew its value or were there any connections with known robberies around that area in 1980? I can't help but think this might be a missing piece in figuring out what happened to them. Maybe someone local or familiar with the area back then might recall something about unusual activity or reports of stolen jewelry in that timeframe? If anyone has more info or theories, I'd love to hear them.
So, something I've been curious about regarding the Romer case is the jewelry that Catherine was known to carry. If she had jewelry worth $170,000, wouldn't that have been something the investigators kept a closer eye on in terms of finding a motive or suspect? I know it's been speculated that robbery could have been involved, but did any leads on potential pawn shop activity come up back then? Jewelry of that value would have turned up somewhere, right? It just baffles me how such an expensive collection could simply vanish without a trace, especially in a case already murky with missing persons and no other clues. Does anyone else feel like this piece of the puzzle hasn’t been fully explored?
