Catherine B. Romer, aged 77, and her husband, Charles, aged 73, disappeared under mysterious circumstances on April 8, 1980, in Brunswick, Georgia. The couple was en route from their winter residence in Miami, Florida, to their home in Scarsdale, New York. They checked into a Holiday Inn located along I-95 and U.S. 341 at approximately 3:51 p.m. After taking their belongings to room 149, they were never seen again.
