Has anyone else been struck by the role of eyewitness accounts in the case against Richard Sandlin? I can't help but think about how pivotal those initial reports were in steering the investigation. It must have been devastating for Donald Riley Jr.'s family to learn that eyewitnesses not only heard the motorcycle but also saw the actual confrontation. Knowing that there were people who could identify Sandlin must have been both a relief and an emotional burden—relief because it provided a lead, but imaginable anguish in reliving those moments through their testimonies. The bravery of these witnesses is commendable, and I hope they can find peace in the fact that their testimony was crucial in getting justice for Donald and his loved ones. Thoughts with everyone affected by this tragic event.
