Hey everyone, I’ve been following Calvin Lawson Jr.’s case, and I recently came across some details that really made me pause. It’s just so sad to think about how a disagreement over something like money—something so trivial in the grand scheme of things—could escalate to such a terrible outcome. It’s baffling and deeply unsettling. I was reflecting on the role that community played in this case. The fact they came forward with valuable information isn't something we can overlook. It shows that people do care about justice and want to see a safer neighborhood. It’s just a shame that it sometimes takes a tragedy of this magnitude to pull people together in that way. The loss Calvin’s family is experiencing must be enormous. I can't imagine how his kids are coping without their dad. From what I’ve read, his poetry was a big part of how he expressed himself, and I hope, in some way, it brings comfort to his loved ones to have those words to remember him by. Knowing that he was someone who lit up a room with his smile and lived life with enthusiasm just reinforces the sense of loss. Let’s keep talking about these issues and continue to support these families however we can. Take care all.
