I’ve been thinking a lot about the trial and conviction of the man who killed Constable William Coward. It's interesting to see how quickly the justice system moved back then compared to today. What stands out to me is the rapid apprehension and trial, leading to the execution just months after the crime. Given the gravity of the case, I wonder how the speedy resolution affected the community and Coward’s family. Did it bring any sense of closure to them, or was it all just a whirlwind they had to endure while grieving? My heart goes out to Coward’s sons, who not only lost their father in such a violent way but also had to navigate the complex emotions around the trial and execution at such young ages. I can’t even imagine how those events shaped their view of justice and the world.
