I've been thinking a lot about the bravery of Patrolman Ghivizzani and the other officers who were there that day. It's really important to recognize the courage it takes to walk into a situation like that, especially dealing with someone as dangerous as this suspect clearly was. It’s so sad that the suspect’s issues spiraled into such a violent end, taking the life of someone who was just trying to fulfill his duty and protect others. My heart goes out to Patrolman Ghivizzani's wife and family, who have had to endure such an unimaginable loss. It's stories like these that remind us of the perils police officers face every day. I really hope they have found some peace since this tragic event.
