I recently came across a detail about the Gilpin Court tragedy that's been haunting me. Has anyone else read about how Tamika Jones' unborn child inadvertently saved her life by absorbing the bullets? It's both tragic and miraculous. I can't imagine the emotional and physical trauma Tamika must have faced, surviving such a horrific event only because of the sacrifice, in a way, of her own child. The strength it must take to carry on after losing so much is unimaginable. My thoughts are with her, and I hope she found some support and healing in the years that followed. Does anyone know if there’s been any follow-up on how she coped with all of this? Sometimes the aftermath for survivors doesn't get enough attention, and it's important to remember these stories continue long after the headlines fade.
