I came across some old articles about the Appalachian School of Law shooting and was struck by the bravery shown that day by the students who subdued Peter Odighizuwa. It must have taken such incredible courage and quick thinking amidst the chaos and fear. While we often focus on the tragedy and loss, I think it's important to also acknowledge the extraordinary acts of heroism by those who put their lives at risk to stop further violence. My heart goes out to the victims’ families and friends, and I hope the school and community have found some peace over the years. It's a reminder of how important it is for us to look out for one another, especially during times of crisis. The way the community came together afterward, offering support and counseling, is a testament to their resilience and compassion.
