I recently came across the cold case of Duke Craps, and it’s weighing on my mind. It’s beyond frustrating to think that it’s been over twenty years since the incident happened on Rotunda Avenue, yet the person or people responsible are still out there. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain his family must be enduring all this time without answers. I was deep-diving into old local news articles hoping to find anything that might have been overlooked. It’s baffling how such a horrific crime could occur in what seems to be a tight-knit community. From what I understand, the Cold Case Homicide Investigations unit has been tirelessly working on the case, which makes me hopeful, but every year that passes just adds to the heartache for Duke's loved ones. Does anyone from the area remember the atmosphere or any unusual activities around that time? Sometimes the smallest detail can be like a key fitting perfectly into a lock. I truly hope someone out there has the missing piece that could finally bring peace to Duke’s family. Please, if anyone remembers anything, reach out to the Chesapeake PD.
