I was going through some old news articles and forums about Bonifacio Cantu, Jr.'s disappearance, and something really stood out to me. There was a mention of a local cold case unit that was formed in the early 2000s to re-examine old files, including Cantu's case. I wonder if they uncovered any new information back then that might have been overlooked or could be revisited with today's technology. It's unfortunate how people and details can slip through the cracks simply due to the passage of time. If anyone has any insights into how cold case reviews usually operate in Alaska or if this unit still exists, please chime in. It's crucial to keep all angles in mind since sometimes, even the smallest detail could crack the case wide open.
