I can't stop thinking about Kristy's story and how there seemed to be no warning signs at all. It really makes you wonder how well we truly know what's happening in someone's personal life, especially when everything seems picture-perfect from the outside. Kristy was clearly an incredible person with so much going for her—pursuing a law degree, working in such a demanding field, and passionately caring for her pets. This situation shines a light on how domestic violence can sometimes remain hidden, even from those closest to the individuals involved. It's a reminder that appearances can be deceiving and that we need to be supportive and attentive to the people in our lives. Maybe we should have open dialogues about these issues more frequently to help others feel comfortable reaching out for help if they need it. My heart goes out to Kristy’s family, friends, and her beloved pets, Mimi and Bentley. They’ve lost someone truly special.
