Hey everyone, just wanted to chime in on this incredibly difficult topic. The loss of Lamont Jones back in 2007 is just so terribly upsetting, not only for his family but for the community as a whole. Every time I think about the fact that he was only 25, I can't help but wonder about all the potential and dreams that were stolen from him. It's maddening to see that the city was struggling so much with violent crime during that time, and yet we kept losing young lives like Lamont's. I feel for Lamont's loved ones. It's awful to live with that kind of loss, especially when it seems like part of a larger, unending cycle of violence. I really hope that sharing these stories continues to shed light on the need for change and helps find new paths to prevent such tragedies. What do you all think could have been done differently to prevent these kinds of incidents?

Hello, I’m not sure if you’re active here still. But , Lamont was my father. He died months after I was born, I didn’t know much but I’m learning more and more about him. I also have an older sister that he had by another woman. We’ve reunited!
