Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Soane Mausia, and my heart truly goes out to his family and friends. I wanted to talk about the impact this has had on his younger brother, who was there during the shooting. I can't even imagine the trauma he must be dealing with, witnessing such a horrific event and getting injured himself. Surviving an experience like that can have long-lasting effects, especially for someone so young. I really hope he's receiving all the support and counseling he needs to cope with this traumatic event. It feels so unfair and incredibly sad that his brother has to carry these memories with him. If anyone has resources on trauma support for families affected by gun violence, particularly for young survivors, please share. It's important for the community to rally around Soane's brother and ensure he knows he’s not alone. Let's keep their family in our thoughts and support them any way we can.

I’ve been following the Mausia case since it happened, and it deeply resonates with me as a parent and a member of the community. I keep thinking about Soane's younger brother, who was there and survived. It must be incredibly traumatic to go through something so horrifying at such a young age. It challenges me to think more about how we can support these young survivors, not just in healing physically, but emotionally and psychologically as well. The fact that he witnessed such violence and lost his brother so tragically is something that will likely affect him for the rest of his life. My heart goes out to him and the entire Mausia family. There should be more resources available for families who find themselves in these devastating circumstances. I've read about some community-led initiatives that aim to provide support, but it seems like there’s always more that can be done. Does anyone know of any specific support groups or services within the Oakland area that are assisting families like the Mausias? I’d love to hear more about how we, as a community, can continue to support them and others affected by such crimes.
