Has anyone else been thinking about the time and place this tragedy occurred? It was broad daylight, and the location seems to be a busy area. Why wasn't there more witness information initially? I truly feel for Kevin Jackson's family during this incredibly difficult time. The fact that he was killed so suddenly and in such a public setting raises so many questions for me. I just hope the investigation was thorough enough to collect all possible leads. It’s so unsettling to think this happened in a place where people should feel safe. My heart goes out to everyone who loved him; they deserve clear answers and justice for Kevin.

I've been following the Kevin Anthony Jackson case, and something that's been on my mind is the investigative work done by the Newport News Police Department leading up to the arrest of Cortez DayShawn Bumphus. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for Kevin's family to wait in uncertainty during those initial days after the tragedy.
The effort that law enforcement put into quickly identifying and apprehending the suspect is truly commendable. It seems like they were thorough and determined in their pursuit of justice, which is so important not only for the family but for the whole community impacted by this senseless act.
I'm hoping that the ongoing legal process will continue to be handled with the same dedication and transparency to bring peace to all those affected. My heart goes out to everyone connected to Kevin; I can't begin to fathom what they're going through. Just know that a lot of us are keeping you in our thoughts and hoping for answers and accountability.

I’ve been following Kevin Anthony Jackson’s case for a while now, and something that's been on my mind is the time of day the incident occurred. It’s unsettling to think that Kevin was shot in broad daylight, around 4:52 p.m., in an area that likely had people nearby. It brings up so many questions about safety and the state of our communities. Was it random or was there some connection between him and Bumphus that we don’t know about? It's hard not to think about how the people who live around Briarfield Road and Chestnut Avenue reacted that day. I hope justice is served for Kevin's family, and that this case serves as a wake-up call about the importance of addressing gun violence in our neighborhoods.
