It's hard to process the loss of young lives, especially in such a tragic manner. I've been thinking a lot about Claire, the joy she must have brought to her classmates and teachers at Rockhill Elementary. My nephew knew her from school, and he told me how much she loved art class. It's so saddening to hear about children losing not just a friend but also part of their own innocence. The school offering grief counseling is crucial, but it makes me think about what else we can do for the emotional well-being of kids who face traumas like this. How do we continue to support them as they try to make sense of something so incomprehensible? If anyone has experience in this area or knows of resources, it would be great to share them here. Let's do what we can to help those who are struggling to heal from this nightmare.
