Has anyone else been thinking about Terrell Thomas's upcoming birthday during all of this? He was supposed to turn 21 just days after the tragedy. It must be incredibly hard for his family, knowing that milestone is passing without him. Losing someone so suddenly, and at such a pivotal time in his life, feels especially cruel. My heart goes out to his young son, who will have to grow up without his father. It's these moments that can be so difficult, when you think about what could have been and the future that was taken away. I hope the community continues to rally around his family and offers them support in this unimaginable time.
Has anyone else been moved by the community's response to this tragedy? It’s been well over six years since Terrell Thomas and Kejuan Goode lost their lives, but the impact of that night still feels very present in Richmond. I often think about Dakeshia Goode’s plea for peace and how it resonated throughout the community. It must be tough for her, for Terrell's son, and for everyone who knew them to carry on with this heavy loss.
I can't help but wonder how the community has shifted since then. Have there been any grassroots movements or organizations formed because of what happened? There seemed to be such a strong desire for change following their deaths. It would be inspiring to hear about efforts that are actively working towards reducing gun violence and supporting those affected by it. Let’s remember Terrell and Kejuan not just by how they died, but by pushing for a future where similar tragedies don’t happen.
