It's been on my mind lately how Scott and Buckley must have felt in those terrifying final moments. They had worked so hard to keep their family safe and were preparing for a peaceful holiday season. To think they confronted such a threat in their own home is chilling. Reports mentioned how compassionate they were, and I truly believe that even in those moments, they were trying to protect their daughter and the rest of their family. I can't imagine the turmoil their daughter went through, torn between her parents and the influence of someone they saw as dangerous. It highlights how difficult it can be for teenagers to see past the people they think they know, especially when darker ideologies are involved. It makes me want to hug my own loved ones a little tighter this holiday season. Rest in peace to Scott and Buckley. Their community lost two remarkable people that morning, and we must continue to be vigilant about keeping families safe from such horrific tragedies. Let's hope their story serves as a wake-up call for many families dealing with similar issues. It's a conversation worth having.
