I was reading about Milton Roman's case, and something that really stands out to me is how crucial community involvement can be in these investigations. Over the years, I wonder if any local tips or community outreach initiatives helped lead the police to Akoye D. Johnson's arrest. Sometimes cases can remain stagnant for so long, and it takes the eyes and ears of community members to help shake things loose. Even though it took a while, it's a relief to see progress being made. I feel for Milton's family and friends who had to endure this uncertainty for so long, and I hope this development brings them some peace and a step closer to justice. ?

Has anyone else thought about how Milton might have been in the wrong place at the wrong time? I read somewhere that he was visiting Roanoke for work, but there aren’t many details about why he was in that neighborhood specifically. It’s just so unfair and senseless that a person can lose their life like that. His family in Brooklyn must have been beside themselves when they found out what happened. I hope they’re finding some peace with the recent arrest, but it’s got to be such a difficult time. The wheels of justice can turn so slowly, but it seems like the police worked really hard to finally get answers. Does anyone know if they’ve mentioned or released any motive behind the shooting, or is that still under wraps because of the ongoing case? It makes me wonder if Milton knew Johnson or if this was something even more random. My heart goes out to everyone who cared for him.
