It’s been over four years since the Virginia Beach shooting, and I still think about what Bert Snelling's family must be going through. It haunts me that someone could lose their life doing something as routine as filling a permit. I read that Bert was a contractor and I've often wondered about the projects he worked on and the community he helped build. It's devastating that his life and potential were cut short in such a violent way. The courage and strength of his family to keep his memory alive is truly admirable. Does anyone know if there have been any recent memorials or community projects dedicated to honoring the victims, specifically Bert? It would be heartening to hear how the community is continuing to remember these lives.
