It's been a few years since Lamar French's tragic passing, and I still can't wrap my head around the senselessness of it all. I recently stumbled upon a discussion about the community fundraiser organized to support Lamar's family back in 2019, and it reminded me of the incredible impact he had on those around him. The turnout was overwhelming, showing just how loved and cherished Lamar was.
What stands out in all of this is how a sudden act of violence can rip through a community, leaving ripples that last indefinitely. I often wonder about the small, everyday moments that Lamar's family must miss. It's these quiet, personal losses that hit the hardest.
Does anyone have any updates on how his family is doing these days? I hope they've found some peace amidst all this turmoil. If you're from Hampton or know any of Lamar's family or friends, I'd love to hear how they're holding up. Keeping them in my thoughts.
Lamar French was truly a beacon in our community, a man who embraced life with such passion and love for those around him. I can't help but think about the countless rideshare stories we've heard - where the driver and passenger share a few laughs, talk about life, or sometimes just enjoy the silence together. It's unsettling to know that Lamar's last ride was anything but ordinary, and that his trust and service as a driver put him in harm's way.
I keep finding myself wondering about the ride he gave on that fateful day. Did Lamar have any inkling that something was amiss? Was there a moment when things took a turn? There’s this nagging question about what it’s like to be a driver in such unpredictable situations. The reality is that these drivers offer a service we all rely on, yet they're left vulnerable every day. It's frightening and deeply saddening to think how Lamar’s normal routine turned into a nightmare.
My heart goes out to his family and friends who now have to grapple with this enormous loss. Lamar deserved so much more, and this community lost a piece of its heart the day he left us. I'm hoping, like everyone else, that justice finds its path swiftly, and offers some degree of peace to all who loved him.
Has anyone else noticed the chilling coincidence of locations in this case? Lamar French was found at Phoebus High School's parking lot, and Elijah Armstrong already had a dramatic scene earlier at the Exxon station in Newport News. I can't help but wonder if there was any reason Armstrong ended up at a school, of all places, especially since there's no known connection between him and Lamar. It's terrifying to think of a high school being part of the backdrop for such violence. My thoughts are with Lamar's family and everyone affected; I hope the trial brings them some measure of peace.
