I’ve been following Carlos Delgado’s case since it was first reported back in 2019, and it’s been a tough journey seeing it unfold over these months. I can’t imagine how his family has managed to cope with such a devastating loss while waiting for justice. It breaks my heart to think about how Mr. Delgado was just at the doorway of his home, a place that’s supposed to feel safe, and became a victim to such senseless violence. Now that Javier Simon Velazquez has been charged, I hope this can lead Carlos's loved ones towards some form of peace, though I know that nothing will ever truly make up for their loss. Charges being filed is just the beginning; let’s hope that through the legal process, there’s a clear path forward for justice. It’s a reminder for all of us to stay alert and contribute in any way we can, even just by being aware of what's happening in our community. Sending all my thoughts to those who knew and cared for Carlos.
