This case has truly been a devastating blow to everyone who knew Rex and Amarea. While reading through everything, I can't help but be reminded of the importance of mental health support and how necessary it is for everyone. It's hard to imagine the pain both families are going through right now. It's just so tragic that we lost two young lives with so much potential and future ahead of them. I struggle to understand how people in such distress often feel so alone, even when surrounded by others who care. I really hope this brings more awareness to mental health and the critical resources that need to be available, especially to young adults like those on university campuses. I think if we all look out for one another a bit more and encourage those struggling to seek help, it could really make a difference. Sending love and strength to all those affected. Does anyone know if Old Dominion or local support groups are planning any initiatives in response to this? I think it's important to further this conversation.

Did anyone else hear about the candlelight vigil they held for Rexford and Amarea? I wasn't able to attend, but my heart goes out to their families and friends who were there to honor their memories. It's so important to come together as a community during these times, even if it's just to share a quiet moment of reflection. I read that Amarea's ROTC unit was in attendance, paying their respects. She seemed like such a dedicated and promising individual. Times like these remind me how crucial it is to reach out and check in on our loved ones, especially when we're feeling overwhelmed or alone. Sending all my thoughts to those mourning and hoping that we all find ways to support each other more effectively. ?

I recently came across the tragic case of Rexford B. Tomlinson and Amarea Ware, and I can't stop thinking about the potential signs that might have been missed. I didn't know either of them personally, but learning about Amarea's achievements and her bright future at Old Dominion University really hit me hard. It’s heartbreaking to imagine what their families are going through right now. The fact that Amarea was so close to graduating and commissioning in the Army makes this even more difficult to comprehend. It's a grim reminder that even those who appear to have it all together on the surface might be struggling internally. The police concluded it's a murder-suicide, which raises so many questions about what really happened and why. I hope this serves as a wake-up call for more open discussions about mental health resources and support systems, especially within university communities and among young adults. My heart goes out to both families, and I hope they find some semblance of peace and support in this trying time. If anyone knew Rexford or Amarea, I'd love to hear more about who they were as people – beyond just this tragic event.
