I’ve been following the discussions about the tragic events on Apple Avenue, and my heart goes out to the families affected, particularly the Bailey family. One thing that really sticks out to me is the community’s reaction to these calls earlier in the day. It’s baffling how such a violent escalation could happen, and it makes you think—could these earlier incidents have been warning signs? It seems like Lois was caught up in something so unnecessary and violent, which she had no hand in. It must be incredibly frustrating for those who knew and loved her, knowing she became a victim in a situation that could have perhaps been prevented with the right interventions. The community's anger is understandable, too. There's a real sense of wanting justice and understanding how this could happen on their streets. If nothing else, I hope that the awareness spread by this case can help other communities prepare or prevent such tragedies from occurring again. My thoughts are with all of you.
