Was anyone else troubled by how long it took to bring Robert Jackson to justice? It's unfathomable to think about the agony Haniah's family must have endured during those three months while he was on the run. During cases like this, I often wonder about the system's handling of interstate fugitives. Was there enough communication between different states' authorities? There's also the matter of Jackson's Alford plea. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for Haniah's loved ones to see someone essentially skirting around outright admission of guilt despite the overwhelming evidence. It saddens me to think that Haniah, a young woman who served her country, had such a bright future violently taken from her, and even in retirement, her family may never feel fully at peace about the plea outcome. Stories like these deserve more attention, so mistakes aren't repeated, and justice truly serves victims and their families.
