I’ve been following Poindexter Penny’s case and have been really moved by the stories shared by those who knew him. It’s clear he was a remarkable person with a generous spirit. I recently read about how he used to spend his weekends planting flowers and trees around Roanoke, helping neighbors with their gardens without expecting anything in return. Truly embodies the spirit of community! I find it so distressing that such a kind-hearted person’s life ended in such a tragic and senseless way. It’s troubling to think about how violence has impacted Roanoke recently, especially when it takes away people who contribute positively to their communities. I truly hope that with more people speaking out, sharing anything they know with the authorities, we can find some answers soon. Penny’s family and friends deserve to see justice served, and perhaps knowing more about his case can also inspire action to prevent such tragedies in the future. Thinking of everyone affected by his loss. ??
