Does anyone else feel that Marquel's story just keeps getting overshadowed by the media coverage of the incident? It's incredibly frustrating. I was reading about how his girlfriend, Amirrah, shared those heart-wrenching moments of him fighting for his life in the hospital. It's a reality check that these were real people who left behind families that loved and depended on them. The fact that he had young kids is especially tragic. They now have to grow up without their dad. It's important that we remember Marquel not just as a victim but as a father, partner, and member of the community.
