Hey everyone, I was thinking about Jaquan "Quanchee" Reid's case today, and it just really struck me how important community support is in situations like this. It's been over a year now, and still no arrests. It makes me wonder about the level of fear or mistrust that might be keeping potential witnesses from stepping forward. In communities where violence is more common, I imagine there's a lot of anxiety about speaking up, even if everyone knows it's the right thing to do. It's truly hard on his family, especially his mom, Monica, who has been trying so hard to make sure his case doesn't go cold. My heart goes out to her, and I admire her strength and determination in pushing for justice for Jaquan. If any of you in the Petersburg area have friends or family there, maybe just a reminder to them about how important this is could help in some way. Let's keep sharing, and hopefully, encourage someone to break the silence so Jaquan's family can have the closure they desperately need.
