Has anyone else looked into the role of the media in influencing public opinion during the Hall-Mills murder trial? I can’t help but feel for Eleanor Mills' family, who not only had to endure the loss of a loved one in such a violent manner but also witnessed her life being picked apart by newspapers. The sensational headlines and the constant scrutiny must have been overwhelming. It’s fascinating and quite disturbing to think about how media coverage back then might have swayed public perception and perhaps even impacted the trial’s outcome. Does anyone know if there was ever any acknowledgment from the media about their role in possibly shaping the trial, or any comments from the family on how it affected them? My heart goes out to those who were left to deal with the aftermath of such a tragedy.
