Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Veitch case and one thing that really sticks with me is the way the neighborhood came together afterward. It's just so touching to see how people can rally around each other in times of such unimaginable pain. I’m from nearby and happened to drive through Deer Lake Park not long after the incident. There was this beautiful memorial at the entrance to their home—a sea of flowers, balloons, and teddy bears. Seeing it in person was deeply moving and just showed how loved Melissa and Jessica were by those around them. While the investigation itself didn’t bring all the answers we were hoping for, I think it’s important to remember the impact these two young women had on their community. As hard as it is, it's essential for us to keep their memories alive through these gestures of love and solidarity.
