I was revisiting the case of the F/V "St. George" when I stumbled upon something that got me thinking. Has anyone else noticed the eerie weather reports around the time the vessel went missing? I've been digging into the historical weather data from early January 1992, and it seems like there were some exceptionally rough seas and strong winds reported around the area north of Unimak Pass. With conditions like that, it's baffling how the crew didn’t manage to get more distress signals out. I wonder if anyone has connections with other maritime experts who might shed light on how typical it was for crews to be out there in such weather back then. It's just mind-boggling how the life raft was found but no trace of the crew. Thoughts?
Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of the F/V "St. George" and am particularly perplexed by the discovery of the empty life raft. Does anyone else think it's odd how the raft was found but there's absolutely no trace of the crew or the vessel? It seems like such a huge piece of evidence, but it hasn't led anywhere in terms of finding Kevin Clark, George Dahl, Sean McWethy, David Parkes, or Brian Schouten. The ocean can be unforgiving, but I can't help but feel like there are pieces of the puzzle we're missing. Was the raft damaged, or were there signs that it had been used at all? I'm just trying to wrap my head around how something like this happens. Anyone on here with maritime experience who can shed some light on what might've gone wrong?
Has anyone else been following the case of the F/V St. George and its missing crew? I can't help but wonder about the life raft they found. It was located empty on 01/05/1992, but what condition was it in? Was it damaged in any way that could suggest what happened? With no sign of the vessel or the crew, I feel like every detail counts. It seems strange to me that the life raft was empty yet there were no further clues. Thoughts?
