I can't stop thinking about the community response after what happened to Annette Torres. It's clear that she was loved by so many, as neighbors and co-workers have shared how kind and hardworking she was. People who knew her continue to express their shock and grief over losing such a cherished person in such a horrific way. It makes me wonder how many more lives are silently affected by domestic violence, and how it can often be hidden from the outside world. The support and palpable sadness in Bergenfield are a testament to the big impact she made. If only those around them knew more about what was happening, maybe there could've been a way to help. It's a tragic reminder of how we need to keep the conversation about domestic violence going and make resources more available and known. My heart goes out to her son and everyone left grappling with the aftermath.
