I'm deeply saddened by the news of Detective Matthew Kurtz's passing. It's really highlighting the immense pressures and mental health struggles our law enforcement officers face. I recently learned about the burdens these everyday heroes carry on their shoulders and how often they don't get the support they need. The stigma surrounding mental health in police departments needs to change. It's important for us as a community to use Kurtz’s passing as a wake-up call to provide better mental health resources and to ensure our officers know it's okay to ask for help. I hope his story motivates departments nationwide to implement stronger support systems. My thoughts are with his family and friends during this incredibly challenging time. Let's keep advocating for those who protect us every day.
