I'm curious about the life raft that was found. Does anyone know if there were any personal items or clues on it that could give more insight into what happened? I read somewhere that the life raft can sometimes hold remnants or items that might provide a timeline or even a direction in which the crew might have tried to escape. It's puzzling that such an integral piece of survival equipment was located but hasn't yielded any substantial leads. Could weather conditions at the time contribute to how it was found with no one inside? Wondering if anyone else has thoughts or more info on this aspect.
I recently came across the case of the F/V St. George, which sank north of Unimak Pass, and I'm really curious about the empty life raft found on January 5, 1992. It seems strange to me that they found the raft but no trace of the crew or the vessel. Does anyone have more information about the conditions or circumstances surrounding the discovery of the life raft? Were there any personal belongings or clues found on it, or was it completely empty? It's baffling how such significant pieces of the puzzle remain missing after all these years. Would love to hear any insights or theories you all might have.
I came across something curious while reading about the St. George case. It seems like survival suits were supposed to be standard issue for the crew at the time. Does anyone know if these were actually available to Kevin Clark and the others on board? The empty life raft found later doesn't give us much hope, but I wonder if there was a chance some of the survival gear might have failed them. That ocean is no joke, and even the best-prepared crews can find themselves in dire situations fast. Just feels like there might be more to the story with the equipment angle. Thoughts?
