I've been thinking so much about Aleshia's engagement ring and how it ended up being a key piece in this case. It's hard to wrap my head around how someone could take something so meaningful from her after what she went through. For those who don't know, it was a family heirloom that had been passed down, and it's incredibly sad to think that it was stolen in such a callous way. It was reported that Gary Johnson attempted to sell it, and that feels like a terrible betrayal of trust. I can't imagine the pain her family must have felt knowing something so precious had been violated in this way. Just a reminder of the value of personal items that hold so much history and sentiment, and how violating this whole ordeal was. Has anyone heard if the ring was recovered? I'd love to know if it found its way back to Aleshia's family, where it truly belongs.
