I've been following Neelega Star Perry's case for a while, and one aspect that really stands out to me is how the trial revealed the extent to which Baines went to cover his tracks. It's chilling to think about the pressure he put on those two women to create a false alibi. Coercion is such a manipulative and terrifying tactic, and it makes me wonder how often witnesses in other cases have been forced into similar situations out of fear. I can only imagine how brave those women had to be to eventually come forward with the truth. It's just another layer of tragedy that people are dragged into these horrific situations against their will. My thoughts are with Neelega's family, who had to endure not just the loss of their loved one, but the stress and fear around ensuring justice was served.
