I was just thinking about the impact that the lack of witnesses has had on cases like Kyell C. Jeter's. It's so sad that people might be too scared to come forward, fearing retaliation or just no faith in the system. It makes me wonder if there are ways for law enforcement and communities to work closer together so witnesses feel safer sharing what they know. Every little piece of information could be so crucial. It's so frustrating to see these cases stall because people are understandably afraid. My thoughts are with Kyell’s family—I can't imagine how difficult it must be knowing there are potentially people out there with answers, unable to speak up. Hoping for something to change that can help bring justice for him and others in similar situations. If anyone’s got thoughts or ideas on how communities can better support each other in these times, I’d love to hear it.
