Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Nafis Jahad Treadwell case since it happened, and something that’s really been sticking with me is the community's response in the aftermath. It seems like everyone who knew Nafis had nothing but great things to say about him, especially about his infectious smile and positive attitude. It's so tough seeing another young life taken away senselessly and imagining the void this loss has left his family and friends with. While the investigation is ongoing, I noticed how this tragedy has sparked more conversations about gun violence in Newark and what can be done to prevent further incidents. I’ve seen local groups and activists pushing for better safety measures, and it's inspiring to see a community come together in hopes of preventing more families from experiencing such a devastating loss. Just wondering, has anyone else seen similar movements or community engagements where they live after tragedies like this? How can we all contribute to making our neighborhoods safer? Would love to hear your thoughts. Stay safe and hugs to everyone affected by the violence out there. ?
