I recently came across this case from Atlantic City and it's really been on my mind. Anthony McCrae was just 28 when he was taken from his loved ones in July 2017. I can't even imagine what his family and friends have been through. What stands out to me is the role that the community could play in this. It seems like the authorities heavily relied on witnesses to piece together the events of that tragic night. It’s understandable that people might be hesitant to come forward, but it makes me wonder if sometimes fear hinders justice. For those impacted by Anthony's death, I hope they find some peace and that we can all rally together to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. If only we could create environments where communities feel safe to speak up and help put an end to such violence. It’s a sobering reminder of how vital community involvement is in solving these cases. Thoughts and prayers for all connected to this incident.
