I’ve been following Shuri Henry’s case closely, and I can’t help but feel for her family and the community she influenced so deeply. It’s moments like these that throw light on why she worked so tirelessly. Her contribution to the community is undeniable, and her absence has left a significant void. I read somewhere that the outpouring of support at her vigil showed just how many lives she touched. It’s absolutely tragic that someone who dedicated her life to making her neighborhood safer fell victim to the very crime she was fighting against. What’s really troubling is thinking about her nephew, who was inside the car during the whole ordeal. I hope he’s getting the support he needs to process what happened. No child should ever have to witness such violence. My thoughts are with him and the entire Henry family during this incredibly trying time. Hoping for positive changes and stronger safety measures in Newark in her memory.
