Hi everyone, I’ve been following Lydiah Okongo’s case and one detail that’s really been troubling me is related to the legal ownership of the firearm Henry used. It’s chilling to think that despite the repeated 911 calls and the history of threats, there were no legal restrictions placed on his ability to possess a firearm. I wonder if anyone else has insights into how firearm laws might need to evolve to prevent tragedies like this. It’s so upsetting to think about what might have been done differently to protect Lydiah and the kids. Her friends and family must be going through so much pain, knowing that measures could have been taken to possibly change the outcome. I feel like this is such an important aspect to discuss because it underscores a gap in the system that desperately needs addressing. Hoping more awareness can lead to change. Keeping Lydiah and her family in my thoughts.

I've been following the tragic case of Lydiah Okongo, and one detail that's been haunting me is the role of the firearm in this heartbreaking event. It’s difficult to understand how Henry could legally possess a gun, especially with Lydiah having reported threats and prior instances of domestic violence. There seems to be a missing link in how these cases are handled legally. Why aren't these red flags connected sooner by the authorities? It's so upsetting to see that despite multiple calls for help, the system didn't protect her. It's crucial that we start holding legislative and law enforcement systems accountable to ensure that protective measures are actually enforced. My heart goes out to Lydiah’s children and her entire family—they deserve answers and justice.
