Does anyone else find it particularly concerning that the authorities haven't released any suspect sketches or details yet? It's been such an agonizing wait for Michael Welsh's family and friends. It's understandable that police investigations take time, but the silence is stressful for the community, especially given the recent violence in Plainfield.
I was reading about how the Union County Homicide Task Force is working with several local agencies, which sounds promising. Still, shouldn't there be more community engagement or updates to keep everyone informed? I feel for the woman who was with him as well; being in critical condition and then having to recover while knowing someone is still out there...it must be incredibly difficult.
If anyone has updates or ideas on how we might help spread information or support Michael's family, please share. Let's continue to keep the focus on finding justice for both him and the survivor.
Hey everyone, I've been following the Michael Welsh case closely, and something really stood out to me about the neighborhood where the shooting happened. I grew up not too far from Plainfield, and it's incredibly distressing to see how violence has impacted the area so much. The intersection of New and West Fifth streets has seen a number of incidents in recent years, and I'm wondering if this could be related to the general rise in crime there.
I feel for Michael's family and the community, which has been left to grapple with so many unanswered questions. For the residents, particularly those who live near that intersection, this must be terrifying. What can be done to make these areas safer? Do locals have any suggestions for change? It would be great to see a conversation around how the community can come together to prevent further tragedies.
Michael deserved to feel safe in his own city, and it's devastating how this story ended. I really hope that justice is served and that measures are taken to ensure something like this doesn't happen again. Stay safe, everyone. ?
