Hey everyone, just wanted to share some thoughts about the impact this case has had on the Trenton community. Michael "Lil Mike" Monroe was obviously a big part of his neighborhood, and it's clear from what I've gathered that he left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. I recently came across several mentions of how he used to mentor younger kids in the West End Little League. They really looked up to him, not just as a coach, but as a positive role model amidst a lot of the challenges they face daily in Trenton. It's so tragic when someone who was giving back in such tangible ways to their community is taken so violently and senselessly. Those who knew him speak about his infectious enthusiasm for baseball and his willingness to help the next generation succeed. I can't help but think about those kids who lost not just a coach, but a friend and mentor who genuinely cared about them. If anyone has more insights into any programs or initiatives that are up and running in his honor, or just stories of his impact, it would be great to hear about them. Keeping Michael's spirit alive through his community interactions might help in healing some of the wounds left by his untimely death. Sending strength and love to his family and friends.
