I keep thinking about the vigil when the shooting happened. It was supposed to be a moment of healing and remembrance, and instead, it turned into such a nightmare. It's just so painful to imagine the fear and chaos that must have erupted in those moments. Jayla and the other young women were there to mourn and honor lives lost, and yet they became victims themselves. I'm wondering if there were any security measures in place or if it was just supposed to be a peaceful gathering. Does anyone know if this was ever addressed? It feels like there’s so much more that could be done to make sure gatherings like this are safe for our youth and everyone involved. My heart goes out to Jayla’s family and the community affected by this horrific event.

Did anyone else catch that odd detail about the timing of the shooting at Jayla's vigil? I’ve been thinking about it a lot. It seems like the gunfire erupted almost as soon as people gathered. How could someone plan something so heinous at such a solemn occasion? It breaks my heart to think about how Jayla and her loved ones were there to honor two other young lives senselessly lost and then this tragedy struck. I feel for her family and friends who are still waiting for answers and can't imagine the pain they're going through. It's been over four years with no arrests, and I wonder if there are pieces of the puzzle still missing or if someone saw something and is too scared to come forward. I hope anyone with even the slightest information finds the courage to speak up. This community deserves justice, and Jayla, most of all, deserves peace.
