Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Ibn Coates and feel deeply for his friends and family. I wanted to bring up a point that's been gnawing at me: the impact incidents like this have on the mental health of the community, especially in areas where gun violence isn't uncommon. I can't imagine what it's like to constantly live with that fear and anxiety. It must be incredibly tough for his loved ones, not only dealing with the grief but also the lingering uncertainty with the suspect still at large. What do you all think communities and local authorities could do better to support residents emotionally and mentally in the aftermath of such tragedies? Do you know of any initiatives that have worked elsewhere? Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone knows of resources available to help communities cope after such events. Stay safe, everyone.
