Does anyone else feel frustrated with how witness statements can make or break a case? I’ve been following Christopher Hanford’s case, and from what I gather, the conflicting testimonies played a significant role in the entire investigation. It’s so disheartening to see how inconsistencies can create hurdles for justice. I can’t even imagine what his family must’ve gone through during the trial. Deandre's changing story is particularly perplexing. I get that fear can be a big factor, but it's crucial for witnesses to provide reliable accounts. It would be helpful to discuss ways community support can encourage witnesses to come forward without fear of retribution. How can we expect communities plagued by violence to heal if justice is so hard to come by due to unreliable testimonies? Would love to hear your thoughts.
