Hey all, I’ve been following the case about Kelvin Mejia, and I can’t stop thinking about the impact this has had on Paterson. It's so unsettling to hear that this was the 82nd shooting in 2020 alone. That’s a staggering number and it's just heartbreaking. I really want to focus on how resilient the people in this community are. Despite the fear and grief, everyone seems to pull together during times like this. I’ve read that local groups and individuals are already stepping up, organizing vigils and meetings to demand change and more safety measures. It’s inspiring to see people come together, even when things seem bleak. I wonder if any locals here have noticed a stronger community bond or more initiatives to address the violence since this tragedy? Also, if there's any info or advice on how those of us here can help or be involved, please share. It would be great to support efforts that push for justice for Kelvin and work toward a safer Paterson. Stay safe out there, everyone.
