Has anyone else been following the updates on the F/V "Northwest Mariner"? I've been keeping an eye on the posts, and I'm really worried about the crew members still unaccounted for—Bruce Forde, Lawrence Johnston, and Robert Olson. The weather conditions out in the Bering Sea can be incredibly harsh, especially this time of year. I can't even imagine what their families are going through right now, waiting for any kind of news. From what I've read, search and rescue efforts are ongoing, but it sounds like every minute counts in situations like this. If anyone has more info or resources that can track ongoing efforts, I’d really appreciate sharing them here.
I've been following the case of the F/V "Northwest Mariner" closely, especially since my uncle used to fish those waters. Something that hasn't been talked about much is the weather conditions at the time. It seems there was a sudden storm that night that wasn't forecasted accurately, which could have played a huge part in the tragedy. I'm also wondering if there was any distress call made by the crew before the capsizing. If anyone has insights or info on whether there was a call, it could help piece together what happened out there. Praying for Bruce, Lawrence, Robert, and the entire crew's families.
