Did anyone else see the local news segment where they interviewed Melvin's friends? It's really striking to hear how much he meant to the people around him. They described him as someone who could light up a room and was always looking out for others. It just makes the randomness and senselessness of this crime even more difficult to swallow. It’s tragic to think of how someone so young and full of potential was taken in such a horrific way. My heart goes out to his family and friends who have to navigate life without him now. I sincerely hope that they find the peace and justice they deserve. Also, with the suspect being so young, it raises so many more questions about what's happening with our youth and the environment they are growing up in. There’s just so much left to process, and it’s a heavy reminder of the changes needed to prevent such tragedies in the future.
