I've been closely following the tragic case of Quamir Nelson, and something that's been on my mind is the ongoing impact on his family. It's one thing to see justice served with Justen Couram's conviction, but I can't begin to imagine how Nelson's loved ones have coped with the trauma of losing him so violently, especially after the earlier attack the same year. The fact that he survived the first attempt on his life only to be targeted again is devastating. Do we know if his family has spoken about how they're doing now or if there have been any community efforts to support them? Cases like this show how the ripples of violence affect those left behind, and I sincerely hope they find some peace and support in the wake of such a relentless series of events.
