I’ve been thinking a lot about the circumstances surrounding Nadir Key’s murder, and something that's been on my mind is how this shooting affects those living in the area of Orange Street. I can't imagine how unsettling it must be for his family and others who live nearby, knowing that such violence happened right at their doorstep. It must be incredibly frightening and frustrating, especially with no arrests made yet. I’m curious if anyone from the Newark area feels like there’s been a change in neighborhood safety or if any community meetings have been held since the incident. I really hope this doesn’t remain a cold case, and that justice for Nadir and peace for his loved ones comes sooner rather than later. Sending all my thoughts to those who knew him and are grappling with this loss.
Wow, this case is just so puzzling and sad. I keep thinking about how Nadir Key was only 29, with so much ahead of him, and now his family is facing the unimaginable. It's hard to wrap my head around how often things like this happen and how a night can end in such tragedy.
Something that really caught my attention is the fact that the shooter's real target might not even be clear. It just adds another layer of uncertainty and fear. Imagine being in a situation like the Deputy Mayor’s son – just a graze wound, thank goodness, but then realizing you could have been in way more danger.
I sincerely hope the investigators get to the bottom of this soon. If anyone out there knows anything, I can't stress enough how important it is to reach out to the authorities. It's difficult to imagine what both families are going through right now, but I hope they find some comfort in the community's support and in the fact that the investigation team is working hard to get answers. Nadir deserves justice.
